Trademark

  • Time frame to complete the process is 18 to 24 months.
  • Registered trademarks in Egypt are valid for 10 years from the filing date.
  • The renewal application must be filed within the last year of the validity period.
  • A grace period of 6 months is allowed for filing a renewal application and subject for late penalty fees.

Copyright

  • Time frame to complete the process 4 months.
  • Registered copyright is valid for 50 years from the death of the author.

Patent

  • Time frame to grant of a patent is 4 to 6 years from the filing date.
  • Registered patent is valid for 20 years from the date of filing.
  • The annual fees must be paid on the anniversary of the international filing date with 12 months surcharge grace period.

Industrial Design

  • Time frame to complete the process is 4 to 6 years.
  • Registered Industrial Design is valid for 10 years from the filing date.
  • The protection period can be renewed for one term of 5 years within last year of validity.
