All IP Applications must be submitted to the Tunisia National Institute for Standardization and Industrial Property (INNORPI).

Trademark

  • Time frame to complete the process is 12 to 15 months.
  • Registered trademarks in Tunisia are valid for 10 years from the filing date.
  • The renewal application must be filed within 6 months before expiration date.
  • A grace period of 6 months is allowed for filing a renewal application with late penalty fees.

Copyright

  • Time frame to complete the process 2 to 3 months.
  • Registered copyright is valid for 50 years from the death of the author.

Patent

  • Time frame to grant of a patent is 2 to 3 years.
  • Registered patent is valid for 20 years from the date of filing.
  • The annuities are due every year counting from the filing date. Late payment of the annuity fees is allowed within 6 months with late penalty fees.

Industrial Design

  • Time frame to complete the process is 6 months from the filing date.
  • Registered Industrial Design is valid for 15 years from the filing date.
  • The renewal request is for 2 terms of 5 years within 12 months from the expiry date or 6 months after expiry date with late penalty fees.
